You simply cannot find a
higher quality selenium yeast than SelenoSource AF.
It is an excellent source of selenomethionine, with no inorganic selenium present after washing. The non-selenomethionine selenium is organic in nature comprising of cell wall bound selenoamino acids such as selenocystine. Figure 1 shows a typical separation obtained using the ion-pair chromatographic system when interfaced to the ICP-MS for reference standards. ICP-MS response for the Diamond V product (SelenoSource AF) It can be seen that most of the selenium extracted has a similar elution time to that of selenomethionine. The identity of this eluting component has been confirmed as being selenomethionine. The remaining extractable selenium is thought to be selenocystine.
